Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon win at BAFTAs

The BAFTAs are off to a flying start, well, in our opinion anyway.

Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon have both won in their respective categories.

The pair were both up for their roles in The Banshees of Inisherin, in the Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories.

And we were absolutely delighted to hear that they had won.

While we’re absolutely delighted for Barry it does mean that Brendan Gleeson missed out on his award as he was also nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in the same film.

So we’re sure there’s no bad blood.

The Banshees of Inisherin writer-director Martin McDonagh and star Colin Farrell are also among the film’s multiple nominations, with Colin up for Best Actor.

However, he is up against two other Irish actors in the category including Paul Mescal and Daryl McCormack.

It wasn’t all good news for Ireland as An Cailín Ciúin missed out in both its categories, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Not in the English Language, to All Quiet on the Western Front.
