We had our first banishment from The Traitors Ireland on Monday night.
Edelle came under fire almost immediately after Siobhan picked her Traitors. While she was, in fact, a Traitor, she was actually chosen as a surprise fourth Traitor at the end of the first episode.
She never even got to meet her fellow Traitors!
Speaking to VIP Magazine after being banished from the castle, the Donegal woman said: “I think they chose me to throw me under the bus. I was worried that that might potentially happen.”

She went on to say that the whole process was “very quick”.
“I was just so relieved that I wasn’t murdered, that I was giddy then with the fact that I was a traitor. But when I had a second to think about it, I didn’t even have a second to think about the murder,” she admits.
“It was all very, very quick. I think I was just chosen to be the sacrificial lamb to keep them.”
Her fellow traitors Fionula, Carla and Páraic K chose her to join them on Sunday night before Carla and Páraic ended up voting her out at the first roundtable.

She adds that she thinks Páraic “started throwing me under the bus” after she was chosen as a Traitor.
She jokingly tells us: “I think I’m the only one that never got to meet any of their fellow Traitors.”
In fact she was “surprised” when she watched the show to find out who the other three were!
“I had my suspicions on Fionula, but I didn’t have any suspicions on the other two. I thought Carla played a blinder.
“I spent a lot of time shackled to her after the first mission. I had no clue that she was a Traitor, so I think she played that really well. Páraic K, I didn’t spend an awful lot of time with, so I didn’t have anything to go on whether he was or he wasn’t.”
If she could have done anything differently she admits that she wishes she could have been “quieter”.
“I think calling out Paraic for not collecting the money was a bit of a downfall,” she admits, referencing Monday night’s challenge which saw the contestants play a traitorous version of musical chairs.
They had to dance in a circle, and when the music stopped they had to find money before sitting down on the bales of hay. The last pair sitting would win immunity from murder.
Paraic O and Laura were called out for constantly sitting down and not finding money. By the end of the challenge, they won €1,400 out of a possible €4,000.
“Some people might have had some suspicions on me over this evidence, this crazy evidence, but I think that put a bigger target on my back then. Everyone was talking at the mission, saying the same thing, but unfortunately you just brought it up. I just brought it up because I wasn’t going to let it go unsaid,” Edelle tells us.
“I wasn’t going to sit down and talk about them behind their back. I’ll say it straight out.”
