It’s safe to say that Ireland has a bevvy of talent.
From actors to musicians to authors, we are really spoiled with the art coming out of our small island.
Irish author Clíodhna O’Sullivan shared some exciting news.
Her debut novel, Her Hidden Fire, is in talks to be adapted for television.
Deadline reports that Irish production company Great Island has optioned the book that hit shelves earlier this year.
The novel was an instant bestseller in Ireland, the UK and the US. Her Hidden Fire was named an Amazon Editors’ Best Book of 2026 and was selected as a Good Morning America literary pick.
“Sum news,” Cliodhna wrote on social media.
“Given my day job is literally keeping clients’ secrets, you’d think I’d be good at it by now. But no, I was like the small child who has to clap her hands over her mouth to stop myself telling literally everyone (I may have told some people. Just not everyone.)”

She continued: “I’m so grateful for Great Island’s faith in this story and cannot wait to see all they do to bring it to life on the screen.”
The second instalment will be published in November 2026, with the third book coming out in July 2027.
The TV show will be a Young Adult series, with plans for a three-season show with eight episodes per season.
