If you’ve been on social media in the last 24 hours you may have seen Irish influencers talk about running.
And no not because of the Olympics.
TikToker Sophie Bublé started this discourse when she opened up about the running, well, scandal.
Is it too far to call it RunningGate? Probably!

In a video Sophie said: “I don’t believe in outing people but I do believe in transparency, so I’m still gonna tell the story.
“I was at an event in Dublin and I was talking to a girl who posts on TikTok a lot. She asked me, ‘Oh how did you hurt your foot?’ I said from running. And she said, ‘Oh I didn’t know you ran because you never post about running.’,” she went on to say.
She explained that she doesn’t post her runs because she thinks she “looks so bad”, adding that she doesn’t sweat where she has botox so she has a sweat-free patch on her forehead.
She then revealed that the unnamed TikToker told her: “But we’re not posting our real runs.”
She went on to say that the other girl told her that she gets in her car between each kilometre to record a “fake” run where she says “1km, 2km, 3km”.
And it’s become a whole thing! Irish influencers have come out to defend themselves from the accusations!
Charleen Murphy made a video saying: “Just to clear up that it’s not me, it never will be me. It’s kind of sad that people think it could be me ’cause I think that’s just really fake.
@voguewilliams Guys it’s me. I’m the fake running influencer… #5k #influencer #running #fitness ♬ original sound – Vogue Williams
“So anyway, just to clear up that I do not do that. I have never even posted myself doing a 5km.”
Even Vogue Williams has weighed into the drama!
She shared a video of her glammed up in a pair of jeans and flipflops pretending to run.
“Guys it’s me. I’m the fake running influencer…” she wrote as she hopped into a car to share her run.

Éabha O’Donoghue shared a joking video with a “lucky” audio proclaiming it is the first of the month.
She wrote: “Taking no chances since it’s only the 1st of the month and the whole of Ireland thinks I’m the influencer who fakes her runs.”
Ah lads, we simply can’t cope!
