Mark Mehigan went all out for girlfriend Doireann Garrihy’s birthday.
The Dancing With The Stars presenter turned 31 today, and in celebration her comedian beau organised a sweet birthday surprise for her this morning.
Upon waking up, Doireann was greeted to her living room decked out with balloons. With a large 31 in the middle, with smaller balloons reading: “I Love You” and “Big Hugs” surrounding it.
Sharing a snap of the surprise, Mark joked: “We get it Mark, you have a girlfriend.”
Doireann and Mark confirmed their romance back in January.
Speaking at the Platinum VIP Style Awards launch, she couldn’t help but gush to VIP Magazine about her relationship after the pair had spent a gorgeous holiday in Spain.
“I think, I know it’s cliché, but these things happen when you’re not looking for it,” she tells us.
Although she is one of the busiest women in Ireland she admits that making time in her life for her relationship isn’t an issue.
“When it’s right, it’s right and you don’t have to worry about making time. It just happens. It is getting that understanding of where you’re at and vice versa. I think we’re in a solid place.”
As for how she and Mark met, well it’s a modern-day fairytale.
“I followed him on Instagram, his cousin is a producer in RTÉ and he was going to one of his stand-up gigs. I asked who his cousin was and he said Mark Mehigan,” she explains.
“I remember him from some of his viral videos. I followed him and he followed me back. But he DMed me first. That’s an important detail,” she explained.
The TV personality also recently gushed about how supportive Mark is of career.
Telling The Sunday Independent: “You’re doing your own thing, and the likes of Dancing With The Stars comes along, and all is going great, and I’ve met someone now who is amazing,” the 30-year-old explained.
Gushing about her new man, Doireann raved about the peaks of seeing someone who is also in the comedy world. Saying: “He just completely gets what I do, is so supportive of it all, and I feel like I’m the same with him. Can bounce anything off him, and vice versa.”
“He gets it. And he’s a great pep-talker. Because you know, things are fairly mad at the moment. He just is the most naturally funny person I’ve ever met. And will find humour in anything.”
