Viewers slated Ray D’Arcy’s interview with Making A Murderer’s Dean Strang – but the US laywer doesn’t know what all the fuss is about.

The legal star of the smash hit Netlix documentary has admitted that he’s has far worse interviews over in the States, following a media furore about his ‘cringeworthy’ meeting with the RTE host last weekend.

Speaking to the Irish Sun, Dean defended the Irish presenter and said he enjoyed speaking to him on the Ray D’Arcy Show, which paid for him to fly over from America.

“I enjoyed it well,” he insisted. “And his interview was fine — by the standards applicable to US media. I am accustomed to much worse. He and his crew treated me really well.”

His comments come after a RTE spokesperson reacted to online criticism, saying: “Obviously, it is always a challenge to condense a 10-hour documentary series into a much shorter interview and, at all times, Ray was cognisant of the need to help Dean explain the case to those viewers who may not have been aware of the story behind Making a Murderer.”

So far, Ray has managed to stay quiet on the whole debacle…
