Lottie Ryan has opened up about losing out on job opportunities due to her post-partum body.
Speaking on her podcast, No One Else Will Listen, with her sister Bonnie, they discussed motherhood.
Bonnie recently welcomed her first child, Winnie, with her husband, John.
“When you were pregnant, or after becoming a new mum, did you think that any of that ever hindered you in getting your next role?” Bonnie asked her big sister on the latest episode of their pod.
Lottie replied: “Yes, I do. You don’t think it happens, but it absolutely does. There were definitely things that I thought were just in my head.
“Years later, when I was back to my pre-pregnancy (weight and body shape) self, things were said to me that confirmed what I thought at the time was true.”
She went on to say: “That was deeply upsetting for me, but I felt justified because it confirmed that I wasn’t crazy or oversensitive. Losing out on opportunities in my pregnancy and postpartum body really had nothing to do with skill. It was about a woman’s looks, which is horrible.”
Lottie welcomed her son, Wolf, in 2021 and is a doting mother to her son.

She recently announced that she would be joining Virgin Media on The Six O’Clock Show couch alongside Brian Dowling.

She went on to say that her new role means leaving 2FM, where she shares entertainment stories across shows.
“Deciding to step into something new also means choosing to close something behind you,” she explained.
“Over the past fifteen years, RTÉ has helped shape me into the broadcaster, and honestly, the woman I am today. It has challenged me, taught me a great deal and given me the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented teams in the business. To my 2FM colleagues, thank you for your support and camaraderie over the years. And to the listeners who are the reason any of it matters, thank you.
“I’ve spent a long time thinking about what I wanted my future to look like…The future looks like Six. See you in September x.”
