Terrie McEvoy has opened up about the unexpected beginnings of her hugely successful Instagram career.
The Irish influencer took part in a fan Q&A on Instagram, where she was asked how she first got started on the platform.
Looking back, Terrie admitted she “genuinely” doesn’t know exactly how it all began, revealing that she started sharing content back in 2015 simply because she enjoyed documenting the things she loved.
“Back in 2015 I was just sharing things I loved like makeup and Snapchat was HUGE so I’d share really raw little snippets of everyday life there too,” she explained.

At the time, Terrie was preparing to move to Australia with her husband David and was working as a nurse.
“David and I were moving to Australia, and I was nursing at the time,” she said.
“As we started travelling around the world, more and more people seemed to come along for the ride and it just grew from there.”
While Terrie has since built an impressive career online, she revealed that becoming an influencer was never actually part of her original plan.
“It was never something I set out to do or chased as a career,” she admitted.
“I absolutely adored nursing and honestly thought that would always be my path.”
Terrie explained that influencer careers were not as established back then, meaning her online presence developed naturally rather than being something she had deliberately pursued.
“Back then this wasn’t really an established career so everything just happened very organically,” she said.
Now, 11 years on, Terrie has built a hugely successful career from the platform, but it’s clear she still feels just as grateful for the opportunities that have come her way.
