Yesterday afternoon, RTE star Maia Dunphy and her UK comedian hubby Johnny Vegas announced the birth of their first child, little boy Tom Laurence.
They welcomed the 7lbs 2ons baby boy at London’s Kingston Hospital on July 17, but kept it quiet for a few days.
The fun-loving married couple revealed their big news in an extremely adorable way, and have since been posting about how they’re finding their new lives as parents.
“As an insomniac with new baby who can’t lactate, I feel I can finally empathise with Wham’s Andrew Ridgeley. Keen to do my bit but…” Johnny wrote, while his tv presenter and journalist wife joked that she thinks she’ll use her maternity leave to become a Scrabble champ.
Maia (37) also jokingly posted a snap of some extremely shredded abs, writing: “Post baby tummy 4 days in. I’m such a disappointment to myself…. #firstpersontomentionpostbabybodygetsaslap“
The smitten pair’s showbiz pals have been sending their support on the social media site, and have been tweeting their congratulations ever since the announcement.
“A huge congrats to you guys and welcome baby Tom!! X,” actress Amy Huberman wrote, while model Vogue Williams simply wrote “congratulations” followed by a number of love heart emojis.
“Cant wait to hold that delicious little boy Xxx” fellow RTE star Lucy Kennedy posted, tv presenter Brian Ormond wrote: “Congratulations Guys-enjoy every moment. Hope you’re both doing well xxx” and model Alison Canavan posted: “Congratulations mummy!! Amazing news enjoy every second and mind yourself!”
