Ireland AM celebrated a quarter of a century this week.
And they went all out with their celebrations as they looked back at the last two decades.
The birthday celebrations kicked off earlier this week with Deric Hartigan embarking on the Ireland AM roadshow in his ‘AM Mobile,’ showcasing how over 5,000 charitable causes, 34,000+ businesses, and 60,000 guests have benefitted from appearing on Ireland AM throughout the years.
To mark the 25th anniversary show, all five of the show’s presenters Muireann, Tommy, Alan, Elaine, and Martin were in the studio.
They were joined by the show’s first ever guest, Pat Shortt along with comedian Mario Rosenstock.
One of the most iconic moments in Irish telly history, Tommy Bowe’s gaffe when he exclaimed, “10 siblings!” was marked as well.
“The Man With Ten Siblings,” Seamus O’Reilly reunited with presenter Tommy Bowe to chat about their viral moment that took over the internet.
Tommy shared some snaps, including one with Seamus writing: “What a privilege to be a small part of Ireland AM’s 25 year history and to meet the man who’s book will stick with me for 10(0) years!!!”
While Muireann wrote: “Good morning! Happy birthday to @irelandamvmtv 25 years today! I’ve been here for a short while. Standing on the shoulders of amazing broadcasters who made this show. I bow down to them.”
Speaking at the celebrations today, Alan Hughes said: “It’s hard to believe that after 25 years, we’re still here! It’s just amazing to see how far we have come. The fact that we are the top breakfast show in Ireland is a true reflection of all the hard work and dedication that the whole team put in every morning.
“I feel so privileged to have been a part of Ireland AM’s story since the beginning, and thoroughly enjoy working with such a talented bunch. And of course, a huge thanks to all our loyal viewers – we would not be here without you. Here’s to another 25 years!”
Ireland AM airs Monday to Friday from 7am – 10am and Saturdays and Sundays from 9am – 11.55am on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Play
