Ireland AM saw a familiar face on its show this morning as viewers were greeted by former presenter Karen Koster.
Yes, Karen who is filling in for Alan Hughes was joined by Muireann O’Connell and Tommy Bowe on the Virgin Media breakfast programme to deliver the latest news in current affairs, weather, sport and lifestyle.
But the question on everyone’s mind was: where is Alan?
Thankfully all is well with the morning presenter who is currently soaking up the sunshine on his holidays.

Taking to Instagram to share a photo from the Ireland AM set, Karen wrote: “Keeping @alanhughestv seat warm @irelandamvmtv while he warms up in sunnier climes”.
Meanwhile, Alan posted a video of him poolside while enjoying stunning views of the sea.
Not jealous at all!
“Just thinking how many laps of the pool I can do every day,” Alan captioned his post.
Karen Koster confirmed the news that she would be stepping down as a host of The Six O’Clock Show back in November.
The longtime Virgin Media host explained that she wanted to spend more time with her family and spending her afternoons and evenings in the studio was taking that opportunity away.
Since then, however, she has been filling in the odd time on Ireland AM whenever she may be needed.
It’s nice to know she hasn’t completely disappeared from our screens!
