Things aren’t looking good for fans of One Direction, as apparently the group are set to make their “hiatus” a little more permanent.
The group are allegedly looking to work on their own solo careers, and did not renew their recording contract.
A source very close to the band told US Weekly, “The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.
“Liam is really interested in song writing and production. Harry is launching a career in acting and singing.”
While the other band members are looking towards solo careers, Louis is set to become a dad soon, so it’s no surprise he’d want to spend extra time with his family.
Fans are already posting their reactions to the news online, and it’s safe to say they are dramatically heartbroken.
One user said, “I can barely handle this break. Eventually when they do break up I will be a MESS.”
While another said, “If One Direction break up, I am selling everything I own and changing my name.”
