Niall Horan opens up on the Late Late about the pressures of One Direction fame

Last night saw Niall Horan on The Late Late Show, the interview was filmed back in January and aired yesterday to coincide with his new album, Heartbreak Weather.

In particular he spoke about how huge the band was when they were at the height of their fame. He spoke about how he “struggled” when they couldn’t leave their hotel in Peru as there was a colossal 15,000 fans outside.

He said that he has never really been into computer games or watching TV so “There were days I struggled with the fact that I couldn’t leave the hotel.”

Even simple things like popping out for a coffee or seeing any of the sights in the cities they were staying in was impossible;
“If I’m in Paris I’d like to see the Eiffel Tower or whatever that may be, and just sometimes with the madness outside the hotel, there was literally zero chance of moving.”

“There would be days where I just couldn’t understand it, like why won’t you just let us out? We just want to go for a coffee! ”

While in One Direction he revealed that they “saw a lot of madness that people will never see” but he also said that “We were all keeping it normal when all the madness was going on around us.”

Of course Ryan also asked Niall about a potential reunion for One Direction and he said; “Well, I’ve a tour booked so I’d probably say no!” but that in the future he didn’t seem to be ruling it out;

“I’m really enjoying what I’m doing now and if it wasn’t for 1D I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now. It’s just a case of when everyone’s ready.”
