We’ve all been glued to our tv screens lately thanks to Celebrity Big Brother’s love triangle, involving Dubliner Jeremy McConnell, former Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis and her model boyfriend Sam Reece.
Desptite Steph being in a year-long relationship with Sam, we’ve watched open-mouthed as she engaged in a blatant on-screen romance with Jeremy, despite her boyfriend watching it all play out at home.
Following his eviction on Friday, the Irish model has opened up about why he got involved with someone who wasn’t single – and Sam isn’t painted in a very flattering light.
In an interview with the Daily Star, he commented: “I know she wouldn’t sacrifice a relationship that she thought was solid or she wanted to marry this guy. Steph told me things that she wasn’t happy about.
“Obviously there were chinks in the chain in Steph’s relationship. She wasn’t happy. She obviously thought she found something better.”
He continued: “She’s never been treated by a guy who has her best interests at heart. She said she hasn’t been treated like the woman she deserves to be. When a girl hasn’t been taken out for dinner, she’s 22-years-old and she’s had three relationships, it’s not good enough. I think she deserves more than that.
“Her self-esteem is rock bottom because of the way she’s been treated in the past. When you feel like you can look after someone better than that then you do want to step in.
I knew I would be able to treat her like a woman. I want to show her how important and talented she is. She doesn’t know how cool she is.”
Sam has yet to break his silence on the entire drama, but we’re pretty sure it’s safe to say he won’t be waiting for Steph when she leaves the house…
