Yes, the Cork lads are back on our screens this festive season.

Dropping exclusively on RTÉ Player on December 3rd, the highly anticipated new season of The Young Offenders promises plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments as audiences catch up with Conor, Jock, and the gang.

As time has passed, the friends must navigate shifting relationships and face the consequences of landing on the wrong side of the law once again, all delivered with the show’s signature mix of humour and heart.

Viewers can look forward to a special festive treat as The Young Offenders Xmas airs on RTÉ One over the Christmas period, bringing the beloved characters to television for a festive adventure packed with charm and comedy.

We sat down with Hilary Rose who plays the long-suffering Mairead MacSweeney, mother to Conor and adopted mam to Jock earlier this year to discuss the third season/.

“It’s been nine years since we did the film and just to have that fanbase and that loyalty means an awful lot. The last time we filmed was 2019 and then we got to come back to it last year,” she enthused.

“It was really brilliant because you get to be with your friends again. Some people grew up with The Young Offenders, that was their iconic TV show! To have that legacy is so interesting, it’s not something you can plan for.”
