Last week’s The Late Late Show may have been a barrel of laughs, thanks to giddy guests for it’s Valentine’s special, but this week is set to have a far more serious tone.
Host of the RTE chat show Ryan Tubridy will meet a number of guests who will discuss important topics, such as gangland violence, the election campaign, addiction to plastic surgery and dependence on alcohol.
First up, we’ll get the lowdown from crime correspondent Paul Williams on who the key players are in this latest Dublin gang feud, and find out what they’re worth, where they’re stashing the cash and how they are controlling the crime scene in the capital from their sunny bolt holes in southern Europe.
Behavioural psychologist Dr Peter Collett is going to put Enda Kenny, Joan Burton, Michéal Martin and Gerry Adams under the spotlight to reveal what they are really thinking. Having studied the body language of the four main party leaders over the course of the election campaign, he’ll be bringing us the truth behind the spin.
Also, comedian Oliver Callan is going to give viewers his unique in-character take on the campaign so far.
Meanwhile, English model Alicia Douvall will join Ryan Tubridy to talk about living to regret spending £1 million on more than 300 plastic surgeries and how she’s going to need even more work to rectify the damage.
And the show will hear the inspiring story of entrepreneur Pat Phelan who left school early to become a butcher boy, found himself virtually unemployable after developing an alcohol dependence in his mid-30s, but turned it around to take Trustdev, his start-up tech company to sale for an eye watering €40 million in just a few years.
Tune into The Late Late Show, this Friday at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
