Teresa Mannion has announced her retirement after four decades working with RTÉ.
She has been a mainstay on our television in recent years.

She confirmed to the RTÉ Guide that she would be stepping into retirement.
She originally joined the national broadcaster in 1980 where she worked in children’s broadcasting before she moved into current affairs.
The Galway-based reporter said that the iconic newslink is the “gift that keeps giving”.
“Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t say it to me. It’s the gift that keeps giving. And now it’s almost a cultural reference point. I’ll be on Reeling in the Years forevermore,” she joked.

“Down the years, I’ve been approached with a lot of stuff linked to that quote but as I worked in the newsroom I couldn’t. But who knows going forward what I might do? I might review those options.”
As for her plans for her retirement she revealed that going to Japan is on her bucket list. How exciting!
