Love Island star Matthew MacNabb got down on bent knee and proposed to Dancing with the Stars professional Laura Nolan.
Now Matthew has opened up about the moment he popped the question.
The couple first met in 2022 when they were partnered in Dancing with the Stars and they have just gone from strength to strength.
Matthew proposed with a gorgeous oval engagement ring.

He took to Instagram to answer everyone’s burning questions about the moment.
One fan asked was he nervous, with Matthew responding: “Yep! Laura was feeling my heart go 90 and thought it was because I was afraid of heights.”
He proposed to Laura on the edge of a cliff beside the beach.
“It’s not that I was afraid of her saying no, it was because this was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of event and I wanted to make it the perfect memory!”
He went on to explain how he got away with recording the proposal without raising read flags.
“We made a video when we first started going out in the same spot that I proposed so I made it out that it would be cool to re do that video 3 years on. Only thing was I bought a crappy tripod from Amazon and it kept falling over,” he explained.
As for the gorgeous engagement ring, Matthew said that he got it custom-made at The Diamond Studio in Kildare but he got “a few hints” from Laura. He started the process in July!

He then explained when he knew Laura was “the one”, saying: “Sounds cringe but when I saw how her energy light up a room. She is such an amazing person to be around, so positive, so kind. Treats everyone with respect and loves life like me! Also when I saw her properly dance ballroom.”
Ah how sweet! Congrats to the happy couple!
