Late last year, Marty Whelan’s daughter Jessica tied the knot to her long-time partner, Conor.
The pair had a gorgeous wedding in Tipperary back in November with Marty driving himself and Jessica to the church in his beloved yellow MG.
Speaking to VIP Magazine he admitted that it was a pretty nerve-wracking day.
“It was great, it was very special. We had a great day,” he tells us as he beams about the big day.
“We didn’t run it, they ran it. It was their day, we let them run it,“ he is quick to tell us.
“It was a joyous, joyous day. I was a nervous wreck. I was so proud.“
Aw, as he should be.
Of course, we had to know about the car that he rocked up to the church in.
“It is my own car. I used to drive that car when I was in 2FM. I loved it,” he confirms.
In fact, they had to fix up the car so they could drive it down to Tipperary but Marty was delighted to do just that for his daughter.
Marty is back on The Late Late Show tonight for Eurosong 2023 as Ireland votes for the act to represent us at the Eurovision Song Contest in May.
