Lottie Ryan has opened up about saying goodbye to RTÉ after 15 years with the national broadcaster.
She had been delivering entertainment news on 2FM as well as stepping in to cover shows over her time on the station.
However, in the coming weeks, she will step into the new role of co-host alongside Brian Dowling on The Six O’Clock Show.
She admitted that she thought her RTÉ bosses were “shocked” when she announced she was leaving.

Speaking to the Sunday Independent’s Life magazine she confessed: “I think they’re going to miss me. They were shocked.”
“I will say, it’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited for what’s to come. I’m just very, very ready for this chapter. I’m champing at the bit to get going.”
She went on to say: “It’s the first time in a while that I have felt I was really being seen for the broadcaster that I am today, and not necessarily the broadcaster I was 10 or 15 years ago.”
She explained that she is “ready for a new opportunity” and excited to grab the bull by the horns at Virgin Media.

“It has met me at the right time. They really saw where I was at in my life and what I was capable of bringing, and our visions aligned. And I think it had been a while since I had felt that,” she shared.
“What’s really exciting about it is they’re so receptive to my input, and they really respect the knowledge that I’m going to bring to the table. They see me as more than just one thing, so that’s fantastic.”
