Lisa Cannon has opened up about how it felt being told she won’t be returning to present the show she had been part of for over a decade.
TV3 confirmed a number of startling changes to Xpose back in August, as part of a complete revamp, and revealed that they wouldn’t be asking Lisa to reprise her role on the show.
The 39-year-old admitted that although she knew something on the show was going to change, she was still shocked and disappointed when TV3 bosses delivered the news.
“I met them and they explained that things were changing on Xpose.” she told the Irish Independent.
“I wasn’t sure what the changes were so, of course, I was disappointed when I got the news,
“I had an inkling that something was going to happen – and wondered how it would pan out. So obviously when I was the change that was disappointing to say the least,” she continued.
“When you are told you won’t be rejoining the show it’s hard news to hear. It’s like a break up. It’s like being told ‘it’s not you, it’s me’.”
However, the seasoned presenter went on to say that she doesn’t harbour any ill-feelings towards her bosses, as she knows how tough the media industry can be.
“It’s not easy news for anyone to give. It’s tough. I wouldn’t say it was a pleasant experience for anyone (involved). But this happens all the time. The media is a difficult industry.”
