Jeremy McConnell is preparing to leave Stephanie Davis and baby Caben in Liverpool, as he jets home to Ireland for his father’s funeral.

The Irish model was left devastated after his father passed away on Friday night, following a short battle with cancer.

The tragic news comes just weeks after Jeremy became a father for the first time.

A representative for Jeremy told the Mirror Online: “On Friday 3rd March 2017 Jeremy McConnell’s father passed away after a short battle with cancer.

“We ask that Jeremy is given space and privacy at this incredibly sad time.”

He shared his first snap with little Caben on Saturday.

The former Mr Ireland is flying home today ahead of his father’s funeral tomorrow, but Stephanie and his newborn son won’t be joining him, so he’s eager to get back to them as soon as he can.

“Jeremy is flying to Ireland for the funeral on Tuesday; it’s going to be a very difficult day.” a source told The Sun.

“Stephanie is staying with the pair’s baby in Liverpool, which is why Jeremy is keen to hurry back to be beside them. Being with his own family is helping him through the grieving process.”

This isn’t the first time Jeremy has suffered a devastating loss, as his mother, brother and sister all died within 15 months of each other when he was just a teenager.

“When I was fifteen I was at my cousin’s and my mum fell asleep.” he said.

“I got back about two hours later and she was gone – she had a brain haemorrhage.

“Shortly after that my brother broke his neck in a motorbike accident.

“After that, my sister had a heart attack – she suffered with epilepsy. All in the space of fifteen months.”

Our thoughts are with Jeremy at this difficult time.
