Donal Skehan has given followers an update on his house renovations, revealing that their new family home is nearly ready.
The chef purchased his first home, back in February but explained it was a fixer-upper and needed quite a lot of renovations, to make it livable for himself, wife Sofie and sons, Noah and Ollie.
Catching up with followers, the Dubliner revealed that nearly five months later, the house work is nearly completed. Writing: “House is going great! It’s pretty much finished and we can’t wait to show ya! Everything is in and most importantly it’s fully livable again.”
“Kitchen is a dream, living room really functional now, yeah everything is just about there! Have to put our own stamp on it all now!”
When asked by followers for a tour of their newly renovated kitchen, Donal promised one is on the way, and share a sneak peak of what to expect.
Writing: “It’s coming!! Just have to get our acts together now!”
Sharing news of their big move, Donal took to Instagram earlier this year, writing: “We got the keys! Our first home! It’s been 17 years as renters and today we are finally bloody homeowners!”
“The last few years have been madness as we’ve moved home to Ireland from LA with 4 house moves in 3 years with 2 kiddos (oh and that whole pandemic yoke!!!). With so much uncertainty it’s exciting to finally put down roots close to home.”
Opening up about their path to homeownership, the Dubliner wrote: “There’ve been many sleepless nights and stress over the last year or so trying to get it all done, definitely a story for another day, so let’s just say we are very grateful to have the keys in our hands today!”
“Huge thank you to everyone who has been on the journey with us. Time to get cracking on how to turn the very cute shell of house into a home and dream up some kitchen & veggie garden plans! YEOW!”
The couple received plenty of congratulations in the comment section.
