From her favourite show to her guilty pleasure, her proudest moment to her most embarrassing one, here, we spend ten minutes with Vanessa Ogbonna to get to know her a little better!
What were you doing last night?
After a very busy day for both of us, my boyfriend and I settled in to watch Love Island. I hate how much I’m locked into the drama!
What’s on your tv series link?
The Office, Ozark, Suits, The Wire, and Parks and Rec.I love a slow-burn with great writing, mainly because I’m too lazy to find new shows so it’s great for rewatching.
What’s your takeaway of choice?
Don’t judge me but.. King Prawn Red Thai curry with egg fried rice. I can’t explain but I love the simplicity of it.
Who’s your broadcasting hero?
Kate Scott from CBS Sports. I admire her so much, she holds her own in a male dominated space, she’s entertaining and has great football knowledge.
Is there a question you hate being asked?
“Can I touch your hair?” It’s always going to be no.
What’s been your most embarrassing moment on air or in public?
Crying on the first episode of The Traitors Ireland, I really didn’t know my tears were that wet.

Tell us a secret about yourself.
I really don’t like cheese, I can’t keep it down, though I don’t know why. Weirdly enough, I do like pizza but it must have a BBQ base.
What’s your ideal date?
Ideally it’d be a summer morning activity like a workout class, followed by a walk and brunch. I’m a simple girlie.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Bread. I genuinely love bread so much, even just toast with butter makes me happy. Because of this I frequently cut it out of my diet because I just can’t eat it in moderation.
What’s been your proudest moment so far?
Honestly, I’ve lived a life and had some really amazing moments especially in the last 9 months. Being the ambassador for the MiWadi FAI football camps has to be up there, I spent most of my summers at the football pitch and football camps were how I spent that time. When I was too old to play in the camps, I volunteered in them and then coached one of the summers. It’s quite a full circle moment, bringing together my past footballing background and my new career. I couldn’t be prouder.

Vanessa Ogbonna, semi-professional womens footballer and winner of The Traitors Ireland 2025, is teaming up with MiWadi as ambassador to launch this year’s MiWadi FAI Football Camps, taking place throughout July and August at football clubs nationwide. Now celebrating their 30th year, MiWadi FAI Football Camps offer the ultimate summer sporting experience for children aged 6–14.
