Last year it was announced that Kneecap film director Rich Peppiatt would helm an adaptation of the beloved book, Bad Bridgets.

Originally, Daisy Edgar-Jones was attached to the project. However, she has since dropped out and been replaced by a fellow Sally Rooney girl.

Alison Oliver, who appeared in Conversations with Friends, Saltburn and most recently, Wuthering Heights, will front the film now.

Her Task co-star Emilia Jones has also joined the Netflix film.

The film will be inspired by the literary works of Bad Bridget by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick.

They’re not the only names attached to the adaptation as Colin Farrell has been confirmed as part of the cast, as well as Domhnall Gleeson.

Irish stars Niamh Algar and Simone Kirby, who appeared in the Kneecap film, have also joined the cast.

Icon Steve Coogan is attached as well. As is Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton and Yesterday’s Himesh Patel.

The synopsis for the film reads: “When a mysterious letter offering escape leads a young Irish woman to 19th-century New York, she is pulled into the unruly world of the Bridgets, where mayhem follows in her wake.”

Production starts in Ireland this week, so keep an eye out for these big names running around this summer.
