Coach Kavanagh revealed what it’s really like to work with the Notorious on The Late Late Show last night.
The trainer joined Ryan Tubridy on the couch to chat about the guts and determination it took to see himself and The Notorious rise to the very pinnacle of UFC.
Conor’s guru admitted that although the UFC champ can be a bit arrogant at times, he’s always very fun to work with and he definitely knows what he’s doing.
“He’s very witty, very funny, loud and some times a little arrogant, but every class we did was a little fun. He could retire tomorrow a multi millionaire so I think he’s doing something right,” He told Ryan.
Kavanagh went on to say that it hasn’t always been easy for the hardworking pair and trying to keep up non-stop training when they were’s making any money proved difficult.
“Me and Conor have been at this for 10/11 years now, the first 5/6 years were really tough,” he told Ryan.
“It’s hard to stay motivated without money, but what always motivated us was the sport. He was 18 or 19 when he was hitting that stage where there were distractions on the weekend but I saw something special in him and I kept reminding him of that.”
We’re glad to see al their hard work finally paid off!
