Charleen Murphy and Ellie Kelly were absolutely over the moon this week when they received the James Joyce Award.
The podcasters went to University College Dublin to be awarded the honour.
And safe to say they were absolutely blown away.
They received the prestigious award from the university’s Literary and Historical Society. The pair earned the award for their contribution to a “field of human endeavours”.
These endeavours were namely through their beloved podcast, Hold My Drink.
Writers Roddy Doyle and Seamus Heaney as well as social media star Grace Beverly have all received the award in the past.
Charleen shared her excitement on social media, writing: “This award has been awarded to some HUGE names & I’m having major imposter syndrome.
“This is such an honour and like I said tonight the podcast has given me such a sense of purpose in my career & I’m so grateful to anyone who listens and supports us. You can do anything you ever put your mind to.”
Ellie and Charleen have just finished up a tour of the country with their podcast that saw them speak to Love Island stars, social media stars, actors and musicians.
What an incredible achievement to the two women.
