Wrapping filming over 25 years ago, the actor who played Father Dougal on the popular sitcom ‘nicked’ the iconic keepsake as a momento. Still, all these years later the portrait appears to be in very good condition.
Immediately fans of the show recognised the picture and commented their thoughts and memories of enjoying the show.
“Father Ted is a timeless classic, no matter how many times I watch it, I still laugh at it. Best comedy to come from Ireland” said one person.
“I would love Fr Fintan Stack’s boom box. RIP Brendan Grace. I hope he is doing his Radio Rahim bit playing Jungle Mania 94 like he did on the show” wrote another.
The tank top Ardal refers to in his caption is the iconic sweater vest Fr Dougal McGuire wore throughout his 3 years on the show.
