Jess Redden has opened up about the emotional reality of life eight months postpartum.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a heartfelt post about her two sons, Bobby and Ross, reflecting on how motherhood continues to surprise her as her youngest reaches another milestone.
Jess admitted that while watching Ross grow has been special, the biggest change has been seeing Bobby develop such a close bond with his little brother.
“The biggest change hasn’t been how much Ross has grown – it’s watching Bobby fall completely in love with his little brother.”

However, she was honest that their relationship didn’t blossom overnight.
“Those first few months weren’t instant best friends to say the least. There was jealousy, adjustment, and so many moments where I questioned if we’d ever get here. We never forced it, we just gave it time.”
Now, watching the brothers together has become one of her favourite parts of motherhood.
“It’s a reminder that love doesn’t always happen overnight. Sometimes it grows quietly, day by day, until one day you realise they’re each other’s favourite little person.”

Jess went on to explain that she’s not entirely sure why she’s been feeling particularly emotional this week, but suspects it’s a combination of another milestone passing and the bittersweet reality of watching her children grow up.
“Maybe it’s watching another little milestone come and go, maybe it’s the thought of him growing up so quickly, or maybe it’s just motherhood. It’s the strangest mix of feeling so grateful while also wishing time would slow down, just for a little while.”
Jess welcomed baby Ross with her husband and former rugby star Rob Kearney in November 2025.
The couple, who married in 2021, are also parents to their eldest son, Bobby, and regularly share honest glimpses into family life with their followers.
