The former party girl has long settled into a more modest life of marriage and motherhood (apart from being a theatrical director and fiction writer of course) over the last few years but that hasn’t stopped the the stunning blonde from reminiscing over the good ol’ days.
The former Miss Ireland has said that she regrets not accepting offers of exotic getaways from rich men in her younger years. Speaking to VIP, she said;
“There were plane rides to Monaco and dinners in New York that I turned down. Eejit.”
“I thought I was being I was being moralistic, that I had standards, but I should have said yes to the guys with the money.”
In the same breath, it’s clear that Amanda is crazy about her young sons and loves the close bond she has with them. She claims a more liberal approach to motherhood is what is needed to have that connection to them;
“You have a long day and then you have to discuss life with a nine-year-old and they’re like, ‘But why, mum? Why?’ And you’re like, Jesus, give me a break!’ But you have to and I’m possibly more honest than other parents.”
“I don’t want to lie to my children’, she added.
“When you give your kids the bare facts, I think and I hope it’s going to be a better building block for them.”
