Shane MacGowan has broken his silence on the recent death of his mother Therese. The Pogues singer tragically lost his 87-year-old mum in a car crash on New Year’s day.
Now on social media the Fairytale of New York hitmaker has thanked fans and police for their hard work and support, following his loss.
Victoria May Clarke, girlfriend of the Shane, took to Twitter to speak on his behalf writing, “Shane MacGowan would like to say thank you and God bless to all the people who are offering kind words and condolences. It means a lot.”
Therese MacGowan was the first life to be claimed on Irish roads in 2017, when her car hit a wall at Ballintogher in Tipperary, at 3pm on January 1st.
