Shane MacGowan will be laid to rest this Friday.
The singer sadly passed away at the age of 65 on November 30th just days after being released from hospital.
A funeral procession will take place in Dublin that morning before his funeral in Tipperary.
Shane spent his early years in Tipperary before his family emigrated to England.
His funeral will take place at Mary of the Rosary, Nenagh, this Friday for Requiem Mass at 3:30pm. The funeral will be open to the public.
A private ceremony will follow for his family before his cremation.
Michael D Higgins is expected to be in attendance at the funeral.
The Irish Independent also reported that his close friends Johnny Depp and Nick Cave will also pay their respects at the funeral.
The publication also reports that the chief celebrant for Shane’s funeral mass will be Fr Pat Gilbert, who is the co-parish priest.
Per The Sunday World, several schools in the Nenagh area are set to close early on Friday as mourners will arrive in the town.

His family confirmed his funeral arrangements on RIP.ie, writing: “It is with the deepest sorrow and heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Shane MacGowan RIP.
“Shane died peacefully, on Thursday, 30th November, 2023, with his wife Victoria and family by his side.
“He is predeceased by his mother Therese and is survived by his beloved wife Victoria, his sister Siobhan and his father, Maurice, family and a large circle of friends.
“His remains will arrive at St. Marys of the Rosary Church, Nenagh, on Friday for his Requiem Mass at 3:30 o’c. Private Cremation to follow. The family ask for privacy at this very sad time. House Private, please.”
