Twink has revealed that the Covid-19 pandemic has made her fear that her home could be repossessed.
Her home, is a historic period building called Idrone House which she has restored over the years and is expensive to maintain.
Since buying the house in 1989 the entertainer revealed that she’s spent lots of time and money on restoring it; “We have an aul hay barn we turned into a gym. It looks like Downton Abbey and it’s Fawlty Towers inside. We’re the ultimate fur coat and no knickers because we haven’t the money to run it or keep it.”
“I never took a penny of any man’s money. I paid for every single thing I haven’t got – and the mortgage I can’t pay, I did it all myself.”
“Unless you live in a house that has 396 years of history, you cannot discount the history in the walls and the moments in time frozen there.”
As an entertainer, Twink like many others is out of work at the moment due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This huge loss of earnings has the 69 year old worried that she may not be able to keep her beloved home.
“Houses like this that are getting harder to maintain,” she said.
The star went on to say how this financial stress has brought about her “darkest” times; “I lost a huge amount of myself. I lost my hair, my hair fell out, it’s only growing back.”
“It’s very difficult to talk about it. I get upset on my own, sitting there.”
“I think, ‘God, I worked my a** off since I was six years of age’. When there’s been not only pandemics but economic downturns and 9/11 and catastrophes, the entertainers are the ones to lift everyone’s spirits, even if they’re down for the same reasons.”
“I just feel that now, with the entertainment industry on death’s door, I’m looking at round three of totally impossible to keep it now, so that’s kind of horrible after such a fight.”
