Katja Mia bid farewell to The Six O’Clock Show earlier this year.
And now Brian Dowling is entering a new chapter of the Virgin Media show, joking that he now has two husbands as Darren Kennedy will spend the summer in the hot seat.
Brian’s summer plans include “a lot of work with Darren”.
“Now I have two husbands. I have my television husband who I will spend the summer with, and I have my other husband that I will also be spending the summer with,” he jokes at the Platinum VIP Style Awards.
“For me, it’s work, and we have some holidays planned with the girls. We have some weddings. We have our daughters’ birthdays.”
Speaking about his former co-host, Katja, he jokes that “she’s dead to me! I never want her name mentioned in this world or the next”!
He’s quick to add that there’s no bad blood between the two of them as they just had brunch together.
“Everyone knew what was happening, we knew Darren was going to come in and do a five or six weeks with me initially. Of course, I’m so sad,” he tells us.
“I love her, she’s one of my friends. She’s amazing and we miss her so much. But she’s doing what’s right for her, which I totally agree with. The show is obviously going to change. But that’s inevitable when you work on a daily television show.
“So it’s nice to shake it up and mix it up! At the moment, there’s work being done behind the scenes, we’re meeting people, we’re doing lots of screen tests. Hopefully come the end of the year, there’ll be a new lineup on the show.”
