Wedding bells are ringing for The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran and his fiancée Nareesha McCaffrey as the pair are planning to head down the aisle this year.

Siva and Nareesha have been together since 2008, after meeting at a fashion show in Belfast  and got engaged nearly ten years ago. The pair moved to American not longer after Siva popped the question, but then back to London a few years ago.

Opening up about finally getting hitched, the Dubliner told HELLO! Magazine: “It feels very natural and right, after Covid, we said to ourselves: ‘Whatever we want to do, let’s take action towards doing it now’.”

Meanwhile, sharing what we can expect from the big day Nareesha revealed they already know when they want to tie the knot.

“We want a winter wedding… We just need to find the right venue before setting a date, hopefully for the end of this year,” she revealed.

The pair also plan on keeping it small, with just friends and family. As the soon-to-be-bride explained: “We wanted a big wedding when we first got engaged, but now we want something intimate and small; a real celebration of our love, the ceremony itself would be only close friends and family, then we’ll invite more people to the reception.”

But some friends who have definitely made the guest list are Siva’s bandmates.

With Jay McGuiness, Max George and Nathan Sykes all playing a part in their wedding. The singer revealed that while the couple are excited to finally get married, they are going to give the band time to grieve after the death of their bandmate Tom Parker.

Tom passed away in March 2022, following his two year battle with an inoperable brain tumour. The band reunited for greatest hits tourm which concluded days before Tom passed away.

“After the tour, I thought I’d give them some time to, I guess, grieve. I’ve realised grieving takes a lot of space, when that’s passed a little bit, we’ll have a conversation on who’s going to get involved in the wedding,” Siva explained.
