Siva Kaneswaran announces his return to Dancing On Ice after falling ill

Siva Kaneswaran has revealed he will be returning to the ice rink tonight, after falling ill and missing last weeks Dancing On Ice live show.

Taking to Instagram, the Dubliner shared the good news, that he was in better health, and would be returning to the show.

Telling followers: “I thought I’d give you an update, I haven’t been online the whole week due to illness and I couldn’t really speak due to the cough. I’m still a bit congested in my chest, but its manageable and I’m able to skate tomorrow!”

“So I’m bringing it, I’m bringing some Elvis joy to you all,”  alluding to tonight’s routine.

The Wanted star also shared his appreciation for his fans and their support as he recovered.

“Thank you so much for all your support during the week! I’ve seen all the messages and love and I really appreciate you all.”

“Honestly this illness was no joke, and I’m happy to be back and putting on a show for you all,” he shared.

Siva and pro-partner Klabera Komini also posted a snap of them returning to the ice. Captioning it: “Back on the ice today. Excited for the week ahead and to get back to work.”

Last week, it was announced that, following the advice of medical professionals, Siva wouldn’t be able to take part in the weeks competition.

With a rep for the show saying: “Due to illness Siva will not skate in this weekend’s show. We look forward to welcoming him back next weekend.”

Siva also spoke out, sharing his disappointment at not being able to hit the ice this week.

Adding: “I’m gutted that I won’t be performing this weekend but I picked up a bug earlier in the week which I haven’t been able to shake so I need to rest and get myself better.”

“Good luck to all the contestants this weekend – I’m looking forward to watching everyone’s performances!”
