There’s no better way to learn a language than to immerse yourself in it.

If you’re just dipping your toe into the world of Gaeilge then How to Gael is the perfect place to start.

Hosted by Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, Louise Cantillon and Síomha Ní Ruairc this bilingual podcast will have you laughing and picking up some handy phrases.

They end each podcast episode with a gluais (a glossary) of some of the words they used.

Bitesize Irish Podcast

Another great podcast to start your Gaeilge journey.

Hosted by Eóin Ó Conchúir, the episodes are in English and discuss the Irish language and our culture.

Definitely a great starting point for someone who hasn’t used Irish since their schooldays.

Gaeilge Weekly

This is a great podcast to really hone in on your skills as each week the episodes are released as Gaeilge agus as Bearla.

So you can listen to the one completely in Irish before listening to the one in English.

It’s a great way to learn new words and immerse yourself in the language without getting lost!

Beo ar Éigean

The three discuss anything and everything as Gaeilge. If you have a grasp of the language and are a fan of podcasts then this will be the show for you!

Gael Gals

If you love pop culture and want to listen to a podcast completely as Gaeilge then Gael Gals is the podcast for you.

Hosted by pals Róisín, Lucy, Dúlra and Sinéad, they chat about music, films and Ireland.

If you love a laugh and want to dive head first into Gaeilge this pod is for you.

Gafa le Sinéad agus Rút

Gafa is the Irish for obsessed, so our hosts Sinéad and Rút talk about everything they’re obsessed with.

Again this is a podcast completely as Gaeilge so if you don’t have a strong grasp of the Irish language, it might be hard to keep up with.

But if you want to challenge yourself this is a great podcast to go for!

ClubLeabhar.com

If you’ve been trying to not only speak as Gaeilge but also read as Gaeilge too then this podcast is for you.

Each episode they discuss a different book that is written in Irish.
