
Could the head of Meta be finding a new home in Ireland?
Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have bought a castle right here on our soil.
The Irish Times reported that the couple are the new owners of Strancally Castle in Co Waterford.
The 440-acre estate is on the banks of the River Blackwater.

The price tag of the historic estate has not been disclosed. However, it has been reported that the Meta billionaire could have paid anywhere from €2 million to €30 million.
The Buckley family told The Irish Times: “We leave our home of 25 years fondly and are grateful for the opportunity we have been given to save and restore Strancally Castle.
“We are delighted that Mark and his family intend to build on our stewardship by continuing to invest in maintaining and enhancing the property and grounds as their home in a sustainable manner. We wish them and their family much happiness in this unique and blessed place.”

The family originally bought the castle in the 2000s.
The publication reports that Mark and Priscilla will not be making a permenant move. However, they will use the castle as a base when they visit Meta’s European headquarters, which is based in Ireland.
