Ryan Tubridy made a very awkward mistake while interviewing Katie Taylor on Friday night’s Late Late Show.
The boxing champ joined to Ryan to chat about her new training regime in New York, how she feels about stepping into the ring for the first time as a professional fighter, and her thoughts on the devastating Rio loss.
However, when the chat show host ended the interview he mistakingly referred to our nation’s boxing hero as Katie Hopkins, the controversial guest who appeared on last week’s show.
Upon realising his mistake, Ryan issued a sincere apology and he assured audience members that’s he’s a big fan of Katie Taylor, not Katie Hopkins!
“They just told me that when I was saying goodbye to Katie Taylor I said goodbye Katie Hopkins.” he said. “I just want to say I’m sorry, It was a mistake. It’s been a long week for all of us.
“And I want to tell you, I love, admire, and adore one Katie, and that is Katie Taylor.”
