Ronan Keating won’t be going grandad.

His eldest son Jack announced that he had become a father earlier this year with a simple picture of him cradling his newborn.

Ronan has now opened up about welcoming the bundle of joy into his life, even if he’s not happy with being called a grandad just yet.

While hosting Monday’s The One Show his co-host Jermaine Jenas said: “You’re a grandad now,” with the former Boyzone star replying: “Yes I am. My son had a gorgeous baby.”

She then was quick to add that Ronan wouldn’t be going by grandad with the singer explaining that he would be called “Pops”.

It comes after Jack spoke about becoming a parent for the first time.

Speaking to The Sun he confirmed he and his daughter’s mother are not in a relationship, but working together to raise their child.

“My daughter’s mother and I are not together however, we look forward to co-parenting together and giving our little girl the best support system that she needs,” he explained.
