Ronan Keating bids an emotional farewell to his brother

Ronan Keating was understandably overcome with emotion as he lay his brother to rest this week.

Ciarán sadly passed away in a devastating crash on the N5 at Ballymiles over the weekend.

During his funeral on Thursday, Ronan paid a beautiful tribute to his brother.

Ronan sang a heartwrenching rendition of Your Song during the service.

“This song was written 25 years ago, when we lost our Mum,” he said before he began to sing.

“I shouldn’t be singing it in these circumstances but..we are, we will. This is for you.”

He also spoke about how devastating losing his brother was but extended his condolences to Ciarán’s three children.

“As a parent, all you want to do is raise your children as best you can. Ciarán and Anne Marie have done a spectacular job,” he said.

“Three incredible human beings, your strength over the last few days has been so incredible and you’ve made your Dad very proud.”

Ciarán and his wife Anne-Marie were both travelling in a car in Mayo over the weekend when they got into an accident.

Anne-Marie sustained injuries that are not life-threatening and was taken to Mayo University Hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision is currently receiving treatment in the hospital for serious injuries.
