We all know that Rob Kearney is cousins with American President Joe Biden.
Both of them are always chatting about it.
So one of Biden’s first stops in Ireland was a little family reunion.
The 80-year-old travelled to Louth on Wednesday stopping off in Carlingford, the Cooley Peninsula and Dundalk. During his time in his ancestor’s native county, he met Rob and his wife, Jess Redden.
Jess looked White House ready in her blue suit as she posed for pictures with the rugby star and POTUS.
“A day to remember,” she captioned the series of pictures of the pair meeting Joe Biden.
In another snap, Joe has his arm wrapped around Jess, who is currently expecting her first child.
“What an amazing experience,” Jess wrote, adding: “A day I will never forget.”
So how exactly are Joe and Rob related?
Well, Rob told The Independent: “Himself and my dad are fifth cousins so I don’t know where that leaves me in terms of removed, or sixth… I just say ‘cousin’.”
It’s not the first time that Rob and Joe have met. The former rugby star travelled to The White House for Saint Patrick’s Day this year.
Clearly they’re the best of pals.
