Niall Horan took on the Hot Ones challenge recently, you know, the talk show with “hot questions and even hotter wings”?
And he really smashed it. He remained calm and collected throughout although he was eating extremely spicy wings, a man of many talents.
The questions asked by presenter Sean Evans were especially hot on this occasion.
While Niall tucked into a spicy chicken wing, Sean asked him about his role as a coach on The Voice and how he handles having to reject people on the show.
Niall admitted that the rejection is the part he has “struggled with” since being on the show as a coach.
He further explained: “I know what it’s like to be sixteen and stood on a stage looking at some famous dude that’s got your future in his hands.
“The easy part is pressing the red button, spinning the chair [and] saying how you like someone. But when the chair turns around and you’re not with them, how do you give them that rejection feedback?”
Sean went on to ask how Niall today would have judged his own audition for the X-Factor in 2010. Niall simply said: “I wouldn’t have turned. Not for that guy.”
Continuing he said: “I was right place right time. I don’t think I would have turned for myself…I’d turn for me now, I’ve learned a lot, I’ve been around the block a couple of times, which a lot can be said for someone who’s 29. But yeah, I’d turn now I wouldn’t have turned then, that’s the truth.”
Aw Niall, we still think your rendition of Neyo’s So Sick is iconic.
But Niall has come a long way from Cheryl Cole not putting him through, and he did end up selling out arenas like he wanted to. His new single Heaven is so good and we are patiently awaiting the release of his album The Show on June 9th.
In the meantime, does anyone need a refresher of what Niall’s audition went like? Here you go! Shoutout to Katy Perry for keeping the Mullingar lad in.
