Former Westlife star Markus Feehily has opened up about the negative side of fame, claiming that online haters speak to him in a ‘derogatory way’ just because of his career choice.

The singer revealed to Entertainment.ie that the online trolls really take their toll on him, and has said enough is enough.

“I don’t hate fame,” he said, “but I don’t like when people feel so free and entitled to go onto Youtube or whatever and lay into you left, right and centre.”

He continued, “I don’t like it when people feel they have the right to speak about you in a derogatory way just because ‘You’re a pop star, sure’ that’s your job – get over it.’ I don’t think that’s fair.”

The singer also revealed that these haters would never say some of things they do online, to his face.

“I feel like I’ve just as much right as anyone to be treated respectfully. There are things that people say to you on Twitter or under a Youtube video that they wouldn’t f*****g dream of saying to you in the street if they met you.
