Majella O’Donnell has revealed why she turned down an invitation to take part in Dancing With The Stars.
Despite having insider knowledge from her husband Daniel, who took part in the UK version of the show in 2015, the 56-year-old admits that her age would hold her back.
Majella was asked by RTE bosses to take part in the current series of the dancing competition, but turned it down for fear of being “the Des Cahill” of the group.
Speaking to Tv Now Magazine she said, “I was asked if I’d be interested to go in as a possibility and I thought, with my surgery, I thought I might be restricted.
“And it’s a huge commitment. We had already planned to go to Tenerife. I know I would be the Des Cahill if I was on it because as you get older, it’s harder.
“I always think there is no chance someone older is going to win Dancing with the Stars because the young people have the advantage.
“But its great entertainment, there’s no doubt. Never say never.”
