Daniel O’Donnell and wife Majella will be giving us a fly-on-the-wall view into their marriage on a new UTV Ireland series, and they have admitted they don’t know they’ll come across on their first tv show.
The pair will star in Daniel & Majella’s B&B Road Trip, which will be on our screens next month, and chatting to TVnow this week, they said they aren’t sure what to expect.
When asked what viewers will learn about the dynamics of their relationship, Daniel simply replied, “I don’t know what you’ll learn!”
Majella added: “We’re used to our dynamic for a long time. I don’t know what people are going to think. They’ll probably think: ‘how does he put up with her?’. And Daniel revealed they have yet to see any footage of the series which follows them on a road trip across Ireland.
“It’s very hard to imagine how it will come out. But we’re as normal as normal can be,” the Donegal singer said.
Meanwhile, wee Daniel is currently gracing our tellies on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, which he is already earning a solid reputation on.
Revealing why he decided to do the show, he said: “I love the show and it’s going to be a great challenge for me. When I have been asked before, I could never do it due to my busy schedule but this year I decided to take a break from touring and I was finally able to say ‘yes’!”
He admitted the most difficult aspect of being a contestant will be remembering the steps each week but he’s grateful to have the full support of Majella, friends and family.
And it seems Daniel won’t be happy with anything less than the final: “I want to win at golf and I want to win at cards, so I’m sure I’ll want to win at dancing.
“I want to go as far in the competition as I’m good enough to go and if that’s all the way then I will be thrilled.”
