Lynsey Bennett confesses she “cried on the plane” as she enjoys “dream” holiday

Lynsey Bennett admitted that she “cried” as she took off on the holiday of her dreams after an intense year of cancer treatment.

She and her good friend Una Healy are soaking up the sun in Ibiza with Lynsey confessing that the holiday is a “dream come true”.

The Longford lady took to Instagram to share how grateful she was to finally be able to take this trip.

She also went on to share the personal significance of this trip, detailing the loss of a dear friend who had planned to mark the day with her.

“Ibiza when my dream comes true anyone who knows me knows what it means to me to be here…. (I’ve had so many messages in reply to my story saying Lynsey I am so happy you have finally gotten to go),” she wrote on Instagram.

“I cried on the plane just thinking I am alive (dodgy bits and all) and really doing this and thinking back nearly 3 years ago when my beautiful friend Georgie booked to go with me to fulfil my dream but devastatingly she gained her wings and we didn’t get to go till now.”

“I could feel her beside me just smiling and taking in the view. Looking forward to writing her name in the sand just like in Mexico,” she continued.

“The pain I’ve dealt with the past month has been so hard, and maybe one day I can share with you one of the most painful and biggest tasks I’ve ever had to do to try help towards my healing that I truly believe caused my body to spasm and be hard on itself from the psychological stress this past month.”

“But sitting on the rocks looking out at the sunset I felt pain-free, recharged emotional, happy and grateful that I chose the healing path I have, and endlessly grateful to @chazdonlon @unahealy @little_penny_thoughts for coming on this trip with me if you’ve never been to Ibiza then I would highly recommend adding it.”

She concluded: “To make it over on the flight was so liberating I let go of the fear around clotting and took the best steps I could to be as safe as I can…. Because life is for living and dreams are for coming true.”
