Laura Fox: “Everyone’s goal is to win DWTS”

Host Laura Fox

It’s no surprise that Laura Fox made it to the final of Dancing with the Stars.

She has been one of the celebrities to watch since week one.

She is ready to impress the judges on Sunday night, speaking to us at the launch of this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards, she was firing on all cylinders.

“You always want to get as far as you possibly can,” she tells us when asked if she expected to get to the final.

“Everyone’s goal is to win. We all need to be realistic about that. I think with the gang we have this year, we all accepted that from the get-go. And it’s nice because now we’re all just friends.”

Yes, she promises there’s no bad blood!

“We’re cheering everyone on. We want everyone to succeed. You don’t want anyone to fall on their face. I am beyond delighted because this year has been so predictable. You are not safe with the scores from the judges.”

Starting with 11 celebrities and now being down to just four, it must be strange. Especially for the social butterfly who loves to visit her fellow competitors.

“It’s mad that it’s whittled down so much and I don’t have all these people to get coffee breaks with during the week. I think the great thing is that we all have a Whatsapp group that we’re all chatting in,” she says.

“And sure everyone is coming back for the final regardless. It really feels like you’re on a hamster wheel because you haven’t thought about it, you just have to keep going.”

While she will miss DWTS, she has also been missing hosting her 2FM show every Sunday. While she has kept her Saturday show, the live DWTS show on Sunday meant that it wasn’t possible for her to continue hosting the programme.

“I miss my Sunday show massively. So I am excited to get back to it,” she admits.

“But I have to thank Fionnuala Moran for holding down the show. She has been so fantastic. It’s so important because I want to make sure that my listeners are still there when I get back, but she has done such a good job at taking care of them.”

And this year, she is hosting the Platinum VIP Style Awards for the first time and she is buzzing with excitement.

“I am so excited about my first year hosting the Platinum VIP Style Awards. I’ve been there the last few years and I’ve had the best time. But I also know how tough of a gig it is, you are responsible for the entertainment for everyone. We’ll get there.”
