Kathryn Thomas has revealed that throughout her adult life, marriage was never high on her list of priorities, but when her long-time love Padraig McLoughlin expressed an interest in tying the knot, she found herself wanting to go down that route as well.
The Operation Transformation host got engaged to her long-term boyfriend earlier this month and although it hadn’t been on her agenda for the past ten years, she had started to think about marriage a lot in the past few months.
“I never saw marriage as an important thing for me.” she told the Evening Herald.
“Over the last 10 years, it’s never been on the agenda and that was fine for me. Then when you’re with someone and they want to go down that route, very quickly you want to as well, without realising it yourself.
“Six or seven months ago he asked if I would be interested and that’s when we first started talking about it. Then I knew he wanted that so I started to think about it in a way I haven’t before,”
She also revealed she would not be signing any exclusive magazine deals for her nuptials, as her other half is very private.
“I don’t think so. He would be quite private,” she said.
“No, he gets why I have to do what I have to do. Is he jumping in there to be beside me? No and I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon.”
