It may be their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, but it won’t be a romantic weekend for Louise Duffy and Paul Galvin.
The radio star has admitted that, while she’s happily loved up with the GAA player turned fashionista, she doesn’t believe in celebrating February 14.
“I really hate Valentine’s Day, I am terrible. Valentine’s Day is a day that can make other people feel bad and you hear more people aren’t in relationships talking about it,” she admitted
“It also puts a lot of pressure on people and it can make them feel blue.”
The Today FM host said that instead, she feels like couples should treat each as if every day was V-Day:
“Try and make everyday like Valentine’s Day if you are in a relationship with somebody.
“I am not a big fan of the day so he might get something another time. I think it is more important to give surprises randomly rather than going crazy on a specified day once a year,” she told RSVP.
The pair tied the knot in a New Year’s Eve ceremony, enjoying a relaxing honeymoon abroad following a traditional wedding in Co. Mayo.
